Our Weekend in Luxury

I have completely abandoned everything in the last week I am so sorry, I’ve been a busy bee, and had a weekend of lapping it up in Tenerife, and oh my god!! It was out of this world! I’m a girl who grew up in not the best of areas, my family are great, but all working class, everything they have got they had to work shift after shift for them (like most people in life), my point is my background is nothing special. So when we tuned up to the “Grand Melia Palacio Isora” I was blown away, I felt like I shouldn’t be there!

We were invited to go by my partners supplier for his business, there was the suppliers branding & logo everywhere. On the tables, on the walls… There was even big floating balls, all in this grand hotel. It looked amazing.

The whole reason for the trip was everyone to get together, network, but most of all take advantage of four days of being out of the office and being able to shut off and relax. It was great, not just to spend some quality time with C, but to spend time with friends, and make new ones. I made a conscious effort before I left that I would talk to other people, people that I haven’t spoken to before! I did, and I loved it, met some really lovely people. So now I have more people that I can call friends, more people I can lean on for advice and support both in professional life and some, even in personal.

It’s strange when you take everyone out of their normal corporate setting, they become such a relaxed, fun person, not that we aren’t real in the work place, but I think it defiantly helps people feel relaxed enough to let go. So many people that I was spending time with were really funny, and I saw this funny side to them that I don’t normally get to meet!

Our days were jam packed full of activity. We got the late afternoon Thursday, so we just chilled, settled in and caught up with friends and partners. Friday morning we were up down for breakfast, it was lovely… Sooooo much choice (if I didn’t have to squeeze into a bikini I would have gone crazy) there was reams, and reams of cooked breakfast, an array of fruit, all freshly chopped up, pastries, pastries everywhere, croissants, apple turnovers even a doh-nut stand! The lot! I could go on but there was so much! After breakfast we had a very quick “business meeting’ only so we could then call it a business trip.. Hehe. We then spent the rest of the day chilling by the pool, drinking way to much alcohol and talking and generally just having a lovely day! That evening we had a white party! WHAT! I only know of white parties from watching bloody ‘Real Housewives of Orange County’ Now I was stood in my white frock, G&T in one hand and eating posh entrees with the other! I felt like a celebrity! Was amazing!

The next day we were up at the crack of dawn to get down to breakfast and outside the hotel, for our day in a boat, watching wales and dolphins! WOW! It was incredible to watch, and they were so close to our boat. We even got to stop and get into the sea, it was beautiful, so crisp and fresh, just what you needed to cool down after a long boat ride! I did get a little sea sick, but I was ok in the end!

That evening would be our last evening, I could of stayed there forever (who wouldn’t), but we had our last night dinner Gala, which was lovely… There was a red carpet rolled out! Yes a red carpet! Everyone taking pictures, again the posh entrees and wine was being passed round, the in for a FOUR course meal, yes FOUR! Luckily it was the last day, no more bikini wearing! It was so mouth watering, every bite was out of this world!

Then that’s when my holiday was over, of home on an early flight! But no! My holiday was extended, C had surprised me with a flight home via Paris! We had a chance to spend a little time in Paris and we went to “The Eiffel Tower” was so sweet of him! The picture isn’t great, we had been parting for four days, and no make up! But the memories we made were amazing.

I’m so truly grateful for my experience, and the memories i made last weekend will stick with me for ever!
